Bernard 4: Round 21

Last round, the Bernards were preparing their older daughter, Tempera, for college, Meanwhile, younger daughter Crayola adjusted to life in high school, and Luke and Cindy continued to advance in their mixology careers.

Hi, Crayola...

Crayola: Hi, mysterious voice...

What are you doing?

Crayola: Oh, this sink was leaking.

And you're fixing it?

Crayola: Yeah, I've been going for the handiness badge in scouts...

Luke: Hey, great job with the sink...I thought for sure we were going to have to replace it.

Crayola: It was just a loose bolt. Nothing too hard.

Luke: Do you think you could take a look at the dryer? It's been making this funny noise...

You want your teenage daughter to repair your dryer?

Luke: Sure. What could go wrong?

Well...that, for one thing...

Um...maybe give her a bit to take a shower first, Harbor...

What the...ok, new rule. All of you need to stay at least 6 feet from any fire source for the rest of the...

Oh, for the love of...

Ok...now, everybody just stay where you are and...

...and the chair's on fire. Great. Ok, great campfire night, everyone. (Why did I even create this holiday?)

Let's hope Luke's birthday isn't as eventful.

Crayola: Ha! Beat that!

Padme: What the...how did you even do that?

Um, I hate to interrupt, but we should probably be getting home for your dad's...

Ok, not what I was thinking when I said "not as eventful..."

Sorry, Luke....

Um, Luke? What are you doing?

Luke: What? It's too hot to jog outside.

And you're too old to jog ever. Get off that thing before you drop dead from exhaustion.

Oh, hey there Madrid...

Madrid: So? Did you get it yet?

Crayola: I think this is it...

Wow. Nice job, Crayola!

Cindy: I'm so proud of you, honey!

Crayola: Thanks, Mom!

Cindy: Your aunt Leia's coming over tonight; we'll have to be sure to tell her too.

Huh? This is new...

Leia: Hi, guys! I hope you don't mind that I let myself in...

Wait...so, you called here to ask about your promotion...right before you came over?

Leia: Of course! Why wouldn't I?

Leia: So you really think I should go for it?

Luke: Of course! Why not? It's not like you haven't done the work to earn it...

And speaking of earning promotions...nice job, Luke.

Wow, she actually got one! I have to admit, that's kind of cool.

Ok, looks like we've got one more birthday to attend to.

And we're at least making it to a party so we're already doing better than with Luke's.

You know, I've always been meaning to ask...is there a reason that you guys serve roast chicken and salads for a teenager's birthday?

Luke: Well, what else are we going to put out on a buffet table?

Chips? Pizza?

Luke: You can't put pizza on a buffet table! Man, some all-knowing voice you are...

Of course...how silly of me...

Paris: Ahh!

Han: Sorry, Paris...looks like you're out.

Paris: This is a stupid game anyway...

Ok, well, we'd better get this show on the road before Paris starts a riot. Happy birthday, dear Crayola...

Huh, looks like she took after her dad and aunt with the art lover thing.

Crayola: Hey, there! So I was thinking that...

Cindy: Crayola! Come get some pictures with your cousins!

Sorry, Crayola...looks like the romance will have to wait...

Ok, family photo shoot time!

And I see Paris managed to sneak into this one...whatever keeps her calm, I guess...

Luke: Hey! Congratulations!

Leia: Thanks. I still can't believe it.

Luke: What's there to believe? Of course they promoted you. You're the best artist in that...art...place.

Present time!

Harbor: That one's from me...hope you like it!

Something tells me she does...

Crayola: Ok, now where did we leave off?

Well, it looks like you two are officially an item. And it's just about time for me to be on my way...which means (drumroll) its time for another trip to University!

Harbor: Wait, already?

Don't worry, we're not doing your group just yet...but I'm sure I'll catch up with you there soon enough. Luke and Cindy, I'll see you next round!

A Message From the Mysterious Voice: I know, I know. It's been awhile. I knew I had fallen behind when the most recent Neighborhood Stories update came down and I thought, you know, I still haven't finished the post from when the first update happened...
And yes, I thought it was kind of cute that Leia called her brother to ask advice about a promotion. And now it's on to University for group 2!
