Flenderson 2: Round 9

Last round, Noah and Jenifer continued to raise their remaining children, twins Nimbus and Cirrus and youngest daughter, Rain. Noah kept working towards promotion at the science lab, while Jenifer supplemented the family's income with writing. Rain, though, began to ask some very difficult questions regarding her origins.

Hi, Jenifer! Finally getting some writing done?

Jenifer: Oh, hi mysterious voice. Yeah, now that I've only got one kid at home I finally have some time to myself.

Speaking of...where is Rain?

Jenifer: (sigh) She's in her room. She's...going through a phase.

A phase?

Oh, I see...I guess your time with Blair's alien club has started to pay off, huh?

Rain: Yeah. Check it out-no more makeup!

What do your parents think about this?

Rain: Who cares? It's my skin. I can choose whether to cover it up or not.

Jenifer: Oh...honey...did you, um...forget something this morning?

Rain: (sigh) No, Mom. I didn't.

Jenifer: Honey...the neighbors can see you!

Rain: So? This is who I am! I'm not hiding it anymore.

Jenifer: Rain, I just don't want people to judge...

Rain: Who cares, Mom? I know looking like this doesn't matter. Unless you're worried they'll judge you.

Jenifer: That's not it, Rain.

Rain: Besides, Dad's been out here blasting stuff with a ray gun for years. I think the neighbors have already decided we're crazy.

She does have a point there.

Jenifer: Oh, Stratus. I'm so glad you called. Please come over and talk some sense into your sister...

Stratus: What's going on?

Jenifer: You'll see when you get here.

Stratus: Oh...hey there sis.

Rain: Hi, Stratus.

Stratus: So...can't help but notice that you're blue...outside...

Rain: Oh, not you too...

Stratus: Rain, you don't know what you're getting yourself into. You're lucky that you can cover it up...we've been trying with Nemo and it just isn't working.

Rain: First of all, I do know what I'm getting myself into. Blair's been natural skinned for weeks now.

Stratus: Blair told you to do this?

Rain: Nobody told me to do anything! You're as bad as Mom!

Rain: Forget this. I'm going to go hang out at the ruins.

Blair: You look great!

Rain: Thanks. It feels kind of weird, but it's awesome!

Blair: What about your parents?

Rain: My dad really hasn't said anything. My mom's been flipping out, but what can she do? I'm practically an adult anyway.

Well, you're not wrong there.

Yeah, I guess we'd better check in with Noah.

Bad day?

Noah: Not really. I'm just stressed out from home.

I take it you've seen your daughter.

Noah: Yes...I suppose she has the right to decide about wearing the makeup. Jenifer disagrees; she thinks we should force her to wear it until she's out of school.

Which is pretty soon.

Noah: Yeah, I know. I kind of wish I had never put that stuff on her in the first place!

Well, looks like you had a good day at work, at least.

Now, let's get to the party...happy birthday, dear Rain...

Congratulations!

Rain: Thanks!

Jenifer: So how do you expect to get a job now...looking like that.

Noah: Honey...she's an adult. She can make her own choices.

Jenifer: Noah, look at her. How are we supposed to explain that our daughter suddenly became an alien overnight?

Noah: She didn't become an alien overnight. She's been one since she was born. We just never admitted it.

Looks like Rain is making some new connections anyway.

Rain: Hi, I'm Rain...

Jase: I'm Jase...You're....

Rain: Yeah. Um...want to come in? I'll tell you all about it...oh, hi there Madison!

Jase: Who's that?

Rain: My sister-in-law...

Madison: Rain...is that you?

Rain: Yup! You should really...

Madison: Shh! I've got to go...

Jase: Wow, that's so cool! So you have like, cool alien powers and everything?

Rain: Yeah.. I mean, I'm just learning how to use them since I hid them for so long.

Jase: That's awesome. Hey, do you want to head out on a date?

Rain: I can't tonight...it's my dad's birthday. But do you want to stick around for cake?

Jase: Sure, I guess...

Happy birthday, dear Noah...

I can't believe you're an elder...you were a teenager when I got here.

Noah: Has it been that long?

Looks like Jase stuck around for more than just cake.

Rain: Do you want to move in?

Don't you think you should talk to your parents first? Or maybe...introduce them?

I guess not...

Jase: Phew! Moving is hard work.

I can't help but notice the lab coat...do you work at the science lab with Noah?

Jase: Yes, but we don't cross paths much...hey, we're alone, right?

Um...yeah...

Jase: Good. Because I have something to show you.

Whoa! Well, that's a surprise...

Jase: Please don't tell Rain...

You really think Rain would care?

Jase: I'm going to tell her, I promise...I just want to do it at the right time.

Jase: Rain, I'm really glad you asked me to move in.

Rain: Me too.

Jase: But there's something I need to...

Rain: Hold that thought...I hear something in the other room.

Oops...sorry I missed your birthday.

Jenifer: Oh, it's alright I guess.

Rain: It's ok, it was just my mom aging up...what is this?

Jase: Rain, will you marry me?

Rain: Of course I will!!!

(clears throat) Um...Jase? About that thing you were going to tell Rain?

Jase: I'm getting to it. I promise.

Ok, this is so cute...at least somebody remembered Jenifer's birthday.

Bachelorette party?

Rain: Yeah!

Rain: This is so awesome!

Blair: Come on, let's head to the bar and order some drinks...

Rain: You go ahead...this song is awesome! I'll meet you over there.

Jenifer: I can't believe my little girl is getting married...or, um...

Rain: Mom...you're still my mom no matter how I got here. You still raised me.

Jenifer: I guess so.

Rain: Come on, let's start planning the wedding!

Where are we having the wedding?

Rain: At the old mansion down by the ruins.

Where did all these new locations come from, by the way? Mansions, ruins, bluffs...

Rain: What new locations? They've always been here.

Uh-huh...then why haven't any of you had weddings there before?

Rain: Well, it's very exclusive.

Stratus: Congratulations sis! Oh, hi Blair...oh...ok, now this makes sense.

Rain: Where's Madison?

Stratus: Um...she had to stay home with Nemo. The sitter fell through.

Rain: The what? What's a sitter?

Stratus: It's just what Madison said...

Blair: She probably doesn't want to be outed. She hasn't seen me since I moved out.

Well, wherever it came from this mansion is a really pretty place for a wedding.

Blair: What are you looking at?

Stratus: The confetti is a nice touch...

Nimbus: Hah...well, it's an interesting look, Rain.

Rain: Thanks for coming, Nimbus.

Nimbus: Wouldn't have missed it.

Blair: Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!

Rain: Come on, I want to introduce you to Jase...

Rain: Do you think Jase could come to some of our club meetings?

Blair: Well, I don't know...it's really a club for...us, you know?

Rain: No, it's ok. He's really an advocate. Right, Jase?

Jase: Um...yeah. Yeah. An advocate...

Blair: Well, maybe it could work...

Um...Jase, weren't you...oh, never mind. Let me just slip out...

So, Jase...remember that thing you were going to tell Rain at the right time?

Jase: Yeah...

You know, I can't help but wonder...if the proposal, wedding, and wedding night weren't the right time...

Jase: Hold that thought...I want to check out those lights outside.

No, wait...

...Of course...

Oh, even better...

Rain: Jase, I've been looking all over for you. Where have you been?

Jase: Um...just out for a jog.

Rain: I have great news! We're going to have a baby!

Jase: ...That's great!

Well, as much as I hate to leave at this exciting moment, I have to be moving on. I'll see all of you next round.

A Message From the Mysterious Voice: Well, next round should be interesting for these guys. I have no idea if Jase is pregnant after his abduction, as he was abducted in the last few hours of the week. It will be interesting to see if Rain's baby is blue or green, at least. And I really can't believe that Noah and Jenifer are elders already. This town is moving along so quickly.
