Lytle 5: Round 21

Next up on our parade of new households, we have the Sprite Lytle and Hank Palmer. Sprite is the oldest daughter of Moss and Marylin, while Hank is the son of Merida and Brett. And it looks like he's brought his favorite raccoon, Rocket, along...

Seriously?

Hank: Uh, hello to you too?

Fine. Hi...now, did you really bring the raccoon with you?

Hank: Of course! Rocket's my best buddy!

So, does that mean you're going into animal control?

Hank: Nah...I think bodybuilding will be right for me.

Ok, that works too.

Sprite: There you are! I've been looking everywhere for you! What do you say we go check out the new bedroom?

Yeah, you know, I haven't seen the inside of the house yet...

Oh, that's what you meant. I should have known...I'll just wait outside with Rocket.

And no surprises here...

Man, this calendar is starting to look more packed every week.

Sprite: Yeah, about that...is there a way we can like, not see every event in the entire town? Like, I'm glad that the high school is holding a football festival or whatever every week, but I don't need to plan my life around it...

Unless Hank wants to go as a guest speaker, maybe...

Sprite: Dad! What are you doing here?

Moss: What do you mean, what am I doing here? I just heard the news that I'm going to be a grandpa!

Sprite: Yup...you think you're ready?

Moss: Are you kidding? Your mother and I are so happy for you! Oh, and she wanted me to ask you when something called a shower was? I told her she should just watch the weather channel...

Sprite: Not that kind of shower, Dad...

And it's happening...now, I guess...

Padme: Sprite! I can't believe it! One of us is having a baby!

Sprite: I know...just what the world needs, right? More Lytle cousins?

Padme: Oh! I think I just felt a kick!

Hank: I hope this thing works...ok, 3, 2...

Um, Hank? Shouldn't you wait until...

Hank: 1!

(sigh) Well, at least the rest of the party will see the confetti on the lawn...

Note to self...change Unicorn's party outfit....

Oh...um, sure. Yeah. That's fine...

And just in time, too...

I see we're going with a home birth...

It's a girl! Welcome, Clarissa

And it looks like Hank won the genetic war with her...

And of course Rocket needs to investigate...

Sprite: What do you want? You better not jump in that bassinet...

I don't think she can...but I'll keep an eye on it just in case.

Um...sure, I guess...wait, how much money are we talking here?

Hank: Not a lot, I swear...

Well, he seems to be confident about his choice, at least.

And it came with a promotion, so I guess I can't complain.

Hank: Hey there, Lissy...guess what? Your dad's a celebrity body...wait, why are you crying? What do you want?

I think she wants to age up...

Ok, we can work with Cautious...

Ah, and I see Sprite's genes had to wait for her hair to grow.

Aww...

Hank: Ok, there we go...now, just...stay that way...

It doesn't work like that, Hank...

Sprite: See the bunny? The bunny's getting ready for bed! He needs his pillow...

Um, Sprite? I'm glad you're reading to her, but from her perspective I'm pretty sure the book is upside down.

Sprite: Ok, Lissy...let's go down for nap time now. And when you wake up we can read the book all over again...

Or, maybe take a bath? That might be a good idea too.

Ok, I know this happens but why is this considered a milestone? Do we really need a record of this?

Hank: There you go. All clean. Now, Daddy's gotta get ready to go to work...again. Just like yesterday...

Hank? You ok?

Oh, this is new...Um, ok, maybe a walk around the neighborhood, or a movie night, or...

Or, cuddle a raccoon. That could work too...

Sprite: Hank! Hank, something's happening!

Hank: What?

Sprite: Look! She's holding up her head!

Hank: Uh...she didn't do that already?

Sprite: No!

Hank: Ok, you've got the head thing down...now how about the rest of you?

I don't know she's ready to sit up yet, Hank...but it looks like something else is happening...

And another milestone checked off!

I guess all that rolling tired her out.

And Rocket got into the diaper pail. Great...

Sprite: Hi, Mom!

Marylin: Hi, honey...how are you holding up?

Sprite: Ok...this whole infant thing is weird...

Marylin: You're telling me...I remember when you two were toddlers, I thought there was no way I would survive!

Sprite: Yeah...but at least we could walk around the house...

Marylin: Oh, I'm sure she'll be walking before too long...

Aww...always nice to have a supportive grandparent.

Marylin: Oh my...she's adorable! She looks just like you!

Sprite: Oh, Mom...let me go change her diaper real quick...

Sprite: Ok, Lissy, this will just take a...wait, what are you doing?

Hey, look at that. Another milestone!

All right! Go Clarissa!

Ok, well, as fun as this has been I think it's time for me to be on my way. Good luck with the food tasting, guys, and I'll see you next round!

A Message From The Mysterious Voice: And the infant parade continues! This house was a little easier because with Sprite at home, I was able to really focus on getting Clarissa's milestone's met. (Sitting up seems to be the big one, because then they can scoot around). Clarissa hit the sit up milestone late in the week, so she didn't get to interact with Rocket much...hopefully we see more of that next round.

Flenderson 5: Round 21

And now we arrive, at long last, to the new home of Snow Flenderson and Kayla Flemming. Snow is the oldest son of Lightning Flenderson and her husband Hugo, while his wife Kayla is a newcomer to Tranquility Creek.

Um...hi, guys...

Snow: Oh, hi mysterious voice...

...You guys did move into a house, right?

Snow: Yeah, of course. It's right over there.

So...is there a reason we're using the community grill...at midnight?

Snow: Well, neither of us could sleep, so we thought we'd come outside for some fresh air...

And some job hunting, apparently...that's quite a way up the ladder. That degree really paid off.

As is the case for Kayla...oh, I didn't know you were a body builder.

Kayla: Of course! Man, some all-knowing voice you are...

I never said I was all-knowing...

But I do know I should probably wait outside for a bit...

Anyone surprised here? Anyone at all?

Well, I guess we'll have an extra Winterfest gift...

...Why would anyone say no to that?

Oh, that's why...looks like Snow's got his work cut out for him.

Snow: Hi, Dad! It's great to see you!

Hugo: We just heard the news! Congratulations!

Snow: Well, you know, it's going to be a lot of extra work...

Hugo: Yeah, well, babies are like that...

Snow: Babies? Oh...oh, right. Yeah...yeah, they are.

Did you think he was talking about your book deal?

Snow: Shh...

Kayla: You know, now that you're a bit-shot author, you think we can maybe get some better stuff?

Snow: I guess...what were you thinking?

Kayla: I don't know...maybe some curtains? Or a nicer couch? My back is killing me!

I think that might be the pregnancy more than the couch.

Snow: There we go...get in there, you little dust bunnies!

Doing some cleaning before the baby arrives?

Snow: Yeah...Kayla hasn't been feeling well today...

Yeah, I'm betting she doesn't...it's baby time!

I think this is it...

It's a boy! Welcome, Luigi!

...And it's another boy! Welcome, Yoshi...

...You have got to be kidding me...Welcome, Mario...

Kayla: There's three of them...

Yup...that's kind of how triplets work.

Kayla: But there's only two of us...

Snow: Ok, guys...Dad's got to head to work! Be good for Mommy, ok?

You doing ok, Kayla?

Kayla: I...I have been feeding them for three hours. I finish feeding one, another one starts crying...

Well, luckily Snow's back home...with a promotion to boot.

And it looks like he's about to get a lot more material...

Ok, here we go...

...Really? We ended up with an intense infant too?

At least he's cute...

Looks like Mario is cautious...

And Luigi is sunny...

But they all look way too similar...and if I know anything about triplets, it's time for some color-coding...

There we go. Mario's red, Luigi's green, and Yoshi is blue. I hope they like those colors because they're going to be wearing them until they grow up.

Snow: Ow! Hey there, little guy...no biting Dad!

Um, not to add to the chaos but...wasn't Winterfest supposed to be happening at some point?

Kayla: Who has time for that? We have three babies, in case you haven't noticed.

Fair point...

Looks like Father Winter didn't get the memo...

Snow: So, listen...I'm glad you're here and all but if you could leave the presents super quietly...we have three babies sleeping upstairs and if you wake them up my wife will...well, you don't want to know...

Kayla: Ok, Yoshi, let's just get you clean, and...

I think that's Luigi...

Kayla: ...ok, well, whoever you are, let's get you cleaned up so we can get the next one in here...

I guess the color-coding doesn't work so well during bath time.

Kayla: Come on, Mario...just try it!

What are you trying to feed him?

Kayla: Um...mashed peas?

You know, I don't really blame him...

Kayla: Can you just drink, please?

(Doorbell)

Kayla: Ugh...here, just...play with your brother for a minute...

Yeah, I'm sure these two won't cause any chaos if left unattended.

Hunter: Hi...I don't know if we've met. I'm Hunter Lytle, I live down the road? I read the birth announcement and I was wonder if you guys needed any help. I mean, we just had twins and we were ready to pull our hair out, and with this new baby thing...

Kayla: Stop talking and come inside!

Snow: So, this little guy's name is Yoshi...

Hunter: Aww, hey Yoshi...Come on, let's give your mom and dad a break for a minute.

Yeah, I don't think these two are getting a break for a really long time...

Snow: What the...I just gave you a bath!

Like I said...

Well, I think this is a good time for me to escape-I mean, be on my way. Good luck, guys! I'll see you in Round 22!

A Message From the Mysterious Voice: So...yeah. My game has a fantastic sense of humor. Second birth after the infant update-triplets. (Luckily, this was also before Growing Together, so the babies were able to move around without having to hit milestones.) One infant is adorable. Three is hard-especially with both parents working like these two were. And forget about holidays-I barely was able to have Snow talk to Father Winter!
