Howard 2: Round 20

Last round, the Howard family expanded yet again when Sadness and Cyrus welcomed their third child, Tangerine. Meanwhile, the family spent time at the beach, and Kiwi continued to enjoy being the daughter of an internet celebrity. By the end of the week, middle child Kumquat had also grown to a child.

Hi, guys! Everybody all settled in?

Sadness: Yes...but explain to me again why we had to move to the lot next door?

I know it seems strange, but it was the only way to get in a community space in the neighborhood...

Not that you'll have much time to visit it...looks like a packed week around here.

And we're going to add scouting to the mix?

Sadness: I tried to talk him into just going to drama club with his sister, but he wouldn't budge.

Um...what are you two doing?

Kumquat: Knitting. We learned it in Scouts today.

Uh-huh...and what are you making?

Kumquat: Trying to make a hat...my scout troop's doing a charity drive.

Ok...that doesn't explain why Kiwi's doing it...she's not in Scouts.

Kiwi: Hey, if he can do it then I can too....

Kumquat: Hey, Dad, I just thought of something! When I learn how to make a hat, I can make a new one for you!

I don't think knitted hats work very well for gardening, Kumquat.

Sadness: How are the hats coming?

Kumquat: Ok, I guess. My first one came out a little funny-looking...

Sadness: That's ok...a funny-looking hat is better than no hat at all.

Kumquat: I guess...maybe I can give it to Tangerine.

Sadness: How about showing your mom how this knitting thing works?

Kumquat: You really want to try it?

Sadness: Sure! It doesn't look too hard...

You were saying?

Sadness: How was he doing this so fast? I can't figure this out at all.

Well, it looks like you'll have to figure it out at the park. It's play group time.

Tangerine: Hi Basket!

Basket: Wanna go play rocket ship?

Let's just hope nobody tries anything too dangerous...Sadness seems a little preoccupied right now.

Although I guess the other parents have things covered.

Whoa! You made that?

Kumquat: Yeah! Pretty cool, huh?

That's quite a step up from hats...

And you know what? I think I know someone else who could use a new sweater...

Wait, what?

Sadness: Riley, you can't be serious...you're thinking of having another baby now? Your kids are almost in college!

Ok, well...that just happened....

Looks like Aunt Cindy dropped by for Cyrus's birthday...

Kumquat: Hey, Aunt Cindy! Look! I made you a new sweater!

Cindy: Um...thank you, Kumquat...but you know, it's not my birthday. It's your dad's...

Speaking of...Happy Birthday, dear Cyrus...

Let's hope Kumquat finishes his sweater eventually.

Kiwi: You're still knitting stuff? I thought you guys finished the hat drive last week.

Kumquat: We did. But I kind of like making stuff.

Kiwi: You're so weird.

Kumquat: Hey, at least I can give the stuff I knit to people as presents. What can you do with your stupid chemistry set potions?

Well, those do have their benefits too. Nice going, Kiwi.

Sadness: There! It's done!

Wow...what a...well, it's certainly a rug.

Sadness: I know, it's a mess. Maybe I'll put it in Tangerine's room and just say she ripped it with her toys or something...

Why is Tangerine getting all the reject projects?

Liam: So you're...really going to down with that aren't you?

Sadness: Yeah...I'm still not that good but it's a nice way to pass the time...

And it seems to be fascinating to the toddlers too...

Somehow I don't think Panic is as excited to see his cousin as Tangerine is to see him...

Kumquat: What was that?

Let's hope those sweaters come in monster-size...

At least he showed up on the right day...

Cyrus: Happy Candy Fest, Tangerine! Come on, it's time to put on your costume!

Hopefully, you can figure out how to put it on in the dark.

Luckily, carving pumpkins doesn't need electricity...

And I guess being without power has turned Kiwi back on to the knitting thing...but how on Earth are you knitting with those gloves on your hands?

Kumquat: Mom! Look what I made! I figured out how to make baby clothes!

Sadness: Oh...well, that's very nice, Kumquat but I don't think your father and I will be having any more babies.

Kumquat: What about baby Surprise? Do you think she'd like it?

Sadness: I bet she would! And you know, we're going to stop at Aunt Hope's house tomorrow before your sister's party. We can give it to her then.

And I see the entire family has benefitted from Kumquat's new hobby...and the reject hat actually looks really cute on a toddler.

Oh, I guess that's why we're going to Aunt Hope's.

Cyrus: Ok, before we go to Aunt Hope's...who can tell me why we have Life Day?

Kumquat: I don't know...

Kiwi: Me neither...

Actually, I'm not even sure why you guys have Life Day...

Cyrus: You're really not helping here.

Hope: What's with the matching sweaters?

Sadness: Kumquat made them. He's taken up knitting...

Hope: Oh, yeah, I heard about that...he must be getting good.

Sadness: He is...he even made something for the baby.

Hope: Oh, that is adorable...let's go try it on her.

Aww, that's actually really cute...

Anger: So, you're like...making your own clothes now?

Kumquat: Yeah! I can make some for you if you want!

Anger: Um...that's ok....

Kiwi: Guys! Come on! It's time to go!

Hermes: If I didn't know any better, I'd say someone's excited about her birthday...

Looks like it's party time...

Oh...looks like we made it to the party just in time. Although I wouldn't have taken Kiwi for a chef...

At least she aged up with decent hair and clothes.

And I guess it's time for a new family picture...

And I see that Kumquat had a birthday gift all ready....

And I guess we have one more birthday before I head out.

Happy birthday, dear Tangerine...

And we've got another social butterfly...

Very nice...

Did I say one more birthday? I meant two...

Happy birthday, dear Sadness...

Ok, now I have to be on my way. I'll see all of you guys next round!

A Message From the Mysterious Voice:  And Nifty Knitting arrives! Overall, I think the pack is cute. I probably won't use it all the time (except for the baby onesies, because that is just adorable). I'm glad they included Plopsy as a way to purchase the knitted items, because the baby clothes and toys don't unock until the highest levels of the skill And for the record, the reason I don't have a picture of Kiwi blowing out her candles was because of a glitch-I directed her to blow them out, but rather than moving to the cake she went through the "blow out candles"  animation where she was standing instead.
