Last round was a rough one for the Palmer family. With twins Rose and Lilly approaching their high school graduation, Lilly surprised her family by asserting that she would be moving out on her own with her new husband Clam Hannon leaving only Rose behind to inherit the house.
Hi, guys...
Rose: Hey, mysterious voice...ok, Mom. I'll be back later...
It's after midnight...where are you going?
And surprise, surprise...the dog is blue.
Rose: (sigh) Look, I'll take him to the vet in the morning. I've got...something planned tonight.
Azalea: Remember to be careful, dear. Have a good time...
Rose: Ok, Mom...I'll see you later...
Um...is this some sort of awkward fashion convention?
Rose: Well, if you must know...this is my new club.
What kind of club is this?
Wait, Rose...who are these guys?
Um, I hate to break up the love fest but I really think you should be getting home...
Oh, no...
Rose: Mom?
At least we got back in time...
Goodbye, Azalea...
Yes, this is the perfect time to find that out...
So, do you know which of the upstanding gentlemen from last night is the father of this baby?
Rose: No...not really. I don't see why it matters. We all agree-no commitments.
Maybe Daisy can talk some sense into her.
Daisy: Hey, I'm so sorry I wasn't able to meet up before. The boys had...wait...Rose, are you pregnant?
Rose: Nothing gets by you, huh?
Daisy: So who's the lucky guy?
Rose: Well...it's not that simple. I've got this new club and we all...mix.
Daisy: So, you're just going to raise this baby completely on your own?
Rose: Look, I appreciate the concern, ok? But I've got this. How hard can a baby be, anyway?
Well, we're about to find out...
Yeah, Rose has totally got this...
I guess the nap meant no time for the hospital...
It's a girl! Welcome...Amaryllis?
Rose: What? It's a nice name!
Yeah, if you don't have to constantly type it on pictures...
Make that two baby girls. Welcome, Iris...
Rose: Now, you two just wait up here...Mommy has a friend coming over soon...
I hope that friend is a nanny...
Oh no...well, it looks like after 3 generations, it's time to say goodbye to Chompy...
...Is it bad that I'm sadder about this than about Azalea?
Rose: Hey, you...long time no see...
Mathais: We missed you at the club last night...
Rose: Yeah, well...you know...something came up.
Mathais: So, do I get the grand tour?
Rose: Sure...how about we start with the bedroom?
...I think I know where this is going...
...Yup...
You...don't seem surprised by this. At all.
Rose: Of course not. I know how babies are made.
Yeah, but...you just had twins with someone else...I think. It was kind of hard to tell..
Rose: Look, I don't have time for this. I've got to get to work...
Well, at least her professional life is going well...
Really well, apparently.
Which is good, because it's time to buy some toddler beds...
Happy birthday, dear Amaryllis...
And another charmer joins the play group...
And...she looks just like Mom.
Happy birthday, dear Iris...
...Oh, this'll be fun...
And they're basically identical...great...
Ok, let's let the messes begin...
Or maybe not. You know, I'm surprised no one else has thought of the toddler gate approach before now...although it does seem like Rose set up a baby corral....
But at least they seem to keep each other pretty well entertained.
Man, all the original pets are starting to age up already...
Shouldn't you be paying attention to the toddlers upstairs?
Rose: What? They're fine! The gate's locked. I checked...
Well, you might want to unlock it for a minute because the baby corral is about to get a new resident.
And I guess we're sharing the miracle of life with the girls directly...
It's a boy! Welcome...Crocus? I guess there aren't that many boy flower names...
And another girl! Welcome, Poppy!
Well, as much as I'd like to stay and watch all this fun unfold I think I'd better be going. I'll see all of you next round...
A Message from the Mysterious Voice: Well, I can tell that this lot is going to be fun. Since I kind of messed up matching Rose up last round, I figured I could try something new. This is sort of my half-hearted take on the 100 baby challenge (although I don't expect Rose to have that many). Besides, Rose seems to have very nice genetics if the older twins are any indication. And yes, after 3 generations Chompy the complaint is no more. I was genuinely sadder about that then about Azalea dying. At least Azalea I was expecting!
