Bernard 1: Round 5

Last round, Matthew and Erin decided against having a second child after the deaths of their parents. Instead, they focused on their son, Trinidad, as he grew from a child to a teenager and their careers. Erin also dove into her aspiration of being a master angler. Trinidad, meanwhile, struggled to find a girlfriend his age; he did, however, strike up a friendship with a young woman named Darlene that may turn into something more when he grows up...

Not again...

Erin: Yes, again. When are you going to do something about these pipes?

What could I possibly do...

Erin: Well, aren't you like, in charge or something?

Not really...

Erin: Well what are you even here for?

How's the fishing going?

Erin: Pretty good, actually. I've had some really awesome catches-they're up on the wall back at the house.

Wow! That one sure is...interesting.

Erin: Yes, but I'm still a few short. But there's supposed to be a whole bunch of rare fish out in the woods...

The woods?

You're going camping?

Erin: Yes, I think we could all use a little break. Matthew and I have enough vacation days saved up from work now, too, so it shouldn't hurt us financially too much.

Trinidad: Dad, what are we supposed to do out here?

Matthew: Aw, come on, son. There's plenty to do. Like this horseshoe court here...

Trinidad: So...you're throwing pieces of metal at other pieces of metal. Looks like a great time...

Erin: Yes! I did it!

Did what?

Erin: I caught enough different kinds of fish to complete my aspiration!

Wow, I'm pretty sure you're the first adult to do that! Congratulations!

Erin: Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of the vacation...

Matthew: It's so peaceful out here...

Erin: It sure is. Say, where's Trinidad?

Matthew: Oh, he found a woodworking station in the welcome center. He's been there all afternoon.

Erin: I just hope he doesn't hurt himself.

What are you up to?

Trinidad: I'm working on a surprise for my parents.

Oh, what is it?

Trinidad: You'll see when we get back home.

Which is just about now, I guess...

Erin: What the...where did all this come from?

I think...Trinidad made it?

Erin: We have needed a dining room for awhile...how did he find the time to make all of this, though? We weren't out there for that long.

Trinidad: Thanks for coming over for this, Darlene.

Darlene: I wouldn't miss it!

Happy birthday, dear Trinidad...

Well, I guess somebody had to roll the "bro" trait sooner or later...

Trinidad: So...now that I've graduated...there's something I've been waiting to do for a long time...

Wow, Trinidad...you're not wasting any time here, are you?

Trinidad: Will you marry me?

Darlene: Yes! Of course...

Note to self...get Darlene some new shoes...

Trinidad: You know...it might be easier to plan the wedding if you just moved in now.

Darlene: Are your parents cool with that?

Trinidad: Oh, sure they are.

Darlene: Ok, I'll bring my stuff over tomorrow after work.

Work? You mean you already have a job?

Darlene: Yes...I've been an adult for awhile now.

May I ask what it is?

Darlene: I work down at the...

Let me guess...the science lab?

Darlene: Yes! How did you know?

I have my ways. But now it's time for me to head on to the next house. Why don't you go ahead and get settled in and I'll see you guys next round.

A Message From the Mysterious Voice: I know, it's been awhile. I figured it was about time to include some Outdoor Retreat on this blog. Erin's the first adult in town to complete her aspiration; truth be told, I don't pay much attention to the adults' aspirations. There's just so much else to keep track of, between all the skills and career levels, that the aspirations just tend to fall by the wayside. That's one of the things I really like about TS4-there's so many different things to focus on. One Sim cannot possibly "have it all" in one lifetime.
