Last round, Han Bernard and his new wife Lori set up their new home after getting married. Han struggled to find a profession (as well as a style) that suited him, while Lori dove headfirst into a career in athletics. By the end of the week, they had added a daughter, Madrid, to their home.
Well, I can see you two are still being...casual with your clothing choices...
Han: What? I'm a painter! Why wouldn't I wear old stuff?
And Lori? Any reason you're in your winter gear in summer?
Um...congratulations, but unless you're staying warm for two...
So how's the painting coming?
Han: Pretty good...it's bringing in enough that we can finally add a second story onto the house.
Whoa! I'd say that's more than pretty good...
Madrid: Where's Mommy?
Han: She's practicing for work, honey.
Another jog around the neighborhood?
Han: Nope. We found a better solution.
Well I guess the painting must be going well if you guys put in a pool too...
Lori: Yeah, isn't it great? This way I can work out without leaving Madrid home alone...
You know, if there was anyone in town who would look happy surrounded by bees...you would be the one...
Nice going, Lori. Looks like the pool was a good investment.
And just in time, too. The baby's on it's way...
I guess we're going for a home birth...
Well, after twin girls on the last lot that's not surprising. Welcome, Toronto...
Huh...I think if you squint you can see some red hair...
What do you think of your new baby brother?
Madrid: He's ok. He doesn't do much...
Don't worry, before too long he'll be out here swimming with you.
Madrid: Daddy...the bees stung me...
Han: Well, you just have to leave them alone, honey...
Madrid: You don't leave them alone and they don't sting you...
Your father has a...unique relationship with those bees, Madrid. Let's just leave it at that.
Han: That's it, little guy. Eat up. Now no crying during the show tonight, ok?
What show?
Han: You didn't know? Tonight's the season premiere of "Orange is the New Peach"...
Can't say I've ever heard of it...
Han: What? It's only like, the best show ever! It starts with this girl going to jail, and then her friend who's a lawyer convinces them to let her work on a farm instead, only the farm is actually a cover-up for a secret...you know what, it's too hard to explain...
Lori: Wow...
Han: I can't believe they actually killed him off!
Killed who off?
Lori: Trevor, the sympathetic farm-hand with a heart of gold! Han, I thought you filled her in...
Yes, let's move on to a holiday I understand...
And it looks like we'll have two toddlers for the occasion.
Happy birthday, dear Toronto...
Ok, that's easy...
And we have another redhead!
Now, let's get him a swimsuit-it's Splash Fest time!
Everybody ready for the party?
Toronto: Happy birthday Madrid...
Lori: Not yet, honey. Wait for the party to start...
So it's also Madrid's birthday?
Lori: Yup. Lucky kid, having her birthday on a holiday.
Ok, let me just get one picture of them both as toddlers...
And one more ages out of the play group. Happy birthday, dear Madrid...
Ok, that makes sense together...
And I even like that hair on you...but I think you need a new outfit. What's Splash Fest without a new swimsuit?
Guys, do you really think it's safe to be playing on that thing in the dark?
Madrid: We can see it ok...why would we stop?
Because it's firework time, that's why!
You know, I think I have to agree with Lori. Madrid is one lucky kid...who else in town had fireworks on their birthday?
Oh, and it looks like we've got one more promotion before I head on my way...
Congratulations, Lori, and I'll see you guys next round!
A Message From the Mysterious Voice: Summer returns! (Yes, we've covered a full year already. Crazy, right?) I'm so happy that Toronto inherited his mom's red hair. I don't actually think we have any other redheads in town so far. Having Madrid's birthday party on Spash Fest was so much fun-that holiday's finally given me a reason to use the fireworks more, too. And TV premier day was actually pretty funny...I love the random holidays that pop up.
