Lytle 3: Round 18

Last round, the Forest Lytle continued to advance in the medical career. Meanwhile his wife Anna discovered that there was just enough space behind their small house for a flower garden, and began experimenting with arranging her own bouquets. Older son Dragon continued to progress in school and scouts, and by the end of the week his little sister Unicorn had joined him.

Ok, first things first. We need to talk about these pirate outfits...

Unicorn: But we were at a party! This is what we wear to parties!

Dragon: We don't have to wear it to every party, dummy! It was just the one where you grew up that was on pirate day...

Unicorn: Oh....

And from the looks of things you guys are going to have quite a few non-pirate parties on the agenda this week.

Forest: Stupid tub...

Wouldn't it be easier to just replace it?

Forest: Sure, if we were made of money...

Aren't you a doctor?

Forest: You'd think that would help, wouldn't you?

Forest: Um...Unicorn? Shouldn't you be getting ready for school?

Unicorn: I am ready!

Forest: Uh...

Looks like Anna's going to have to deal with this one.

Forest: (phew...)

Well, it looks like someone is all ready for Winterfest...

Nice going, Forest.

(sigh) Guys, homework is typically easier when you can see the paper...

Dragon: But it's cold!

Well, there are other things we can do about that...

There...see?

Plus it adds a nice holiday atmosphere.

Unicorn: ...and a new dollhouse and a new owl toy and a new...

Dragon: Do you think Father Winter's really gonna bring you all that stuff?

Unicorn: Sure, why not?

Forest: Come on, kids...it's time to decorate the tree!

Anna: There...lights are done!

Unicorn: I'm gonna hang more ornaments than Dragon!

Oh, cool. A WinterFest birthday...

Unicorn: So wait...does that mean that Father Winter is going to bring you two presents?

Anna: (laughs) I don't know about that, sweetie...

Well, we'll find out soon enough...

Anna: I think we did a pretty good job.

Unicorn: Hey, look! We match the tree!

So, did you dress to match the tree or decorate the tree to match you?

Forest: Look who's here...

Unicorn: Father Winter!!!

Father Winter: Here you go, Unicorn...

Unicorn: It's not going to break my stuff like the other gnomes do, right?

Now it's Dragon's turn...

Ok, a teddy bear's always a classic...

...and somehow one of the adults always ends up with literal scrap metal.

All right, looks like the birthday girl is last up...

Hey, look! Father Winter gave someone a useful gift! A new stove!

And what better way to break it in than by baking your own birthday cake?

Happy birthday dear Anna...

And now onto WinterFest Day...

Man, it is just non-stop presents around here this week...

Anna: Ok, I think I have one for Dragon...no, wait...maybe this is Unicorn's?

You know, most people label them...

Forest: Ok, guys, let's clean up all this paper. Your aunt and uncles will be here soon.

How'd the one with the smallest house end up hosting the Lytle family reunion?

Emerald: Happy Winterfest! Hey, you guys did some upgrades since the last time I was here.

Forest: (laughs) Well, we have Father Winter to thank for the stove...

Anna: Dinner!!!

Again, there's no way that one ham is going to feed this many people...I hope you made backup.

Unicorn: Happy Winterfest, Fern...

Fern: For me?

Unicorn: Uh-huh...

What did you have to give her?

Unicorn: My bear costume...I think I'm getting too big for it.

Great, I'm sure your aunt Emerald will love that...

Hey there, Tylenol...what did Father Winter bring you?

Tylenol: Hellicopper!

Dragon: A helicopter? Cool! Uncle Hunter, can I take him outside to show him how to use it?

Hunter: Ok, but let's get his coat on first so your aunt doesn't have a fit...

Ok, let's get one nice sibling shot...

I guess playing outside with his cousin paid off.

Forest: And just in time, too. It's his birthday!

Padme: Wait, your mom's birthday was on Winterfest Eve? Did she get two presents?

Unicorn: No, but she got a whole new stove. So maybe Father Winter brings you one really big present if it's your birthday.

Padme: Man, I hope our next birthday is on Winterfest...

Unicorn: Yeah, and you guys are triplets so it's actually 3 birthdays! You'd probably get a whole new house!

Speaking of birthdays...Happy birthday dear Dragon...

Huh...well, it does make some sense...

...Is Round 18 the round of awful hair?

And it looks like we get to end with...more presents!

Hey! Harrison, put the present down! I'll be at your house soon enough! Lytles, I'll see you all next round...

A Message From the Mysterious Voice: Yeah, so as it turns out flower arranging isn't so profitable in the winter...hence why Anna kind of gave up on it this round. I was genuinely surprised that Father Winter gave her such an appropriate (and needed) gift, given that she is in the culinary career. And I think one of my favorite things about Seasons is the holiday celebrations; I love having all these little mini-family reunions on each lot.
